Low Midnight r1 release

Ho hum, the challenge is over and we’re not really finished. We expected that but it’s still a little sad. Well, I guess the game is playable. There are still lots of bugs and missing features but the general idea is visible.

The challenge was lots of fun & sometimes also very frustrating, but that’s the joy of game development. Thanks to the 7dfps team and everyone participating for a great time! We’re quite excited to see and play all the other games!

We’ll release a nicer version & downloadable for PC / Mac later /  tomorrow but for the first release, that’s it!

P.S.: You need to turn around after hitting play, the player faces the wrong way right now^^

Low Midnight – the intro story

Sheriff Gilmore was a man of few words. Silently he slid the Deputy Star towards me. Then, with a groan as if it was almost too much of an effort, he muttered: ‘Go to Cliffside and find out why we haven’t heard anything from them recently. I’ve heard strange reports from the mountains so be careful. Might be Indians on the warpath again.’
I nodded and agreed, then turned and walked out of the Sheriff’s Office smiling.

A ride over to Cliffside wasn’t so bad. If it was the Indians I’d call the Cavalry, if it was just a rockslide in Jasper’s canyon, I’d have to organize some help to move it away. Either way it sounded like an easy first assignment.
Boy was I ever so wrong.

Wow, I really can’t believe it’s almost over. I also can’t believe how far we’ve come and we only started on Monday! It’s been a great time so far, learning a lot and working under time pressure shows where our deficiencies are.

I think our game will be almost but not quite finished till Saturday evening.

GameLab Freiburg throws the hat in the ring

We’re a couple of media design students from Freiburg, Germany who are currently focusing on Unity3D development. The GameLab is our freshly founded platform to fulfill (almost) all our gaming dreams and get university credits for making and talking about games all day.

Since this is a kind of last-minute thing for us we’re not really sure what the game will look like yet, but it’s probably going to be something crazy with rainbows, unicorns and bubbles :D

So prepare to be sparkled!
