Call of Warfare: Blocks (week 2)

I suppose at this point it’s no longer a 7dfps, but I wanted to post an update.  Been working over the past week to add multiplayer support and fix bugs. I’m really happy with how this project has turned out so far. The multiplayer is fast paced and tons of fun (at least for the playtesters I’ve had so far).

Call of Warfare: Blocks is written in C# using the XNA Framework. There’s a dedicated server application (also written in C#) but written without XNA.  This allows the server app to run on a linux machine for cheap hosting.

Here’s the project page for the 7dfps version: http://7dfps.org/?projects=call-of-warfare-blocks

If anyone has questions or comments, I’d love to hear them.

Nameless entry post #3

This video shows the main mechanic of the game: you have only three bullets, if you fire a bullet you have to pick it to fire again.

Also I implemented sounds, a gun and bullet-time

To do:

- Levels: I will copy honor some levels from Robotz DX
- Power reactor (enemies should be invincible until you destroy the reactor)
- Enemies: they should move and fire if you are near. They should die after a couple of hits
- Enemy bullets
- Improve tileset
- Time restrictions: you will have 60 seconds to kill’em all :)
- Music: current music is a place holder.

I’m running out of time, like most of us I think.

Good luck to all!!!

Desperately seeking a name!

Presenting :
A new turret type, overhead view, summoning circle, the first level modelled, and my rather scratchy voice :)

Does anyone out there have any good name ideas for this? Want to get the project actually created on the site :)

Prototype Video

Video seems a bit jerky, but the game runs fine, so think I just need a better screen recorder :) I sound half dead, so I apologise in advance :) The big issue I’m having with the game currently is the name. Can’t seem to think of one, which means I can’t create a project yet :S If anyone has an ideas, please feel free to comment or to tweet me them too me – I’ll make sure you get a credit for the effort :) Plus points for any obscure words I have to look up, or anything Lovecraftian sounding.
